The Art and Science of Mixing for Houses of Worship 

(One-Day Class)

Learn a nontechnical approach to a better sounding service. In this course, we will cover what to listen for and how to hear it. The best part is that you will be able to put these tips and tricks into practice the following week.
 

System Tech-ing for the FOH Engineer 

(Two-Day Class)

Take a practical look at the difference between the mix and the system. This hands-on course features listening, calculating and verifying. With everything this course has to offer, audio engineers will leave with new knowledge that can be immediately applied into practice to get the best mix possible.

Real World Dante 

(One-Day Class) 

Gone are the days of copper snakes. Whether you are getting your feet wet or neck deep in Dante digital networking, this class will present practical design and deployment scenarios, how to ensure a stable network, and Unicast or Multicast setups.

Practical System Engineering

(Two-Day Class)

Day 1: Musical System Alignment: Learn the history of live measurement systems, along with the science, math and musicality behind the measurements. Gear will be on-site for practical, hands-on EQ and system alignment. Day 2: Demystifying Subwoofers: Learn about designing, modeling, deploying and listening to different types of subwoofer setups. Gear will be on-site for practical, hands-on experience.
 

 


John Mills

Sr. Audio Designer

John Mills has commissioned and tuned close to one hundred house of worship installations and has toured every major arena and stadium in the continental United States, fine-tuning his skills throughout his 20+ year career.

John has been nominated for the industry’s highest honor—the Parnelli Award—and is one of the few engineers who understand the fine balance between art and science when mixing and system commissioning. He enjoys traveling the country to work with audio students of all skill levels and finds satisfaction in seeing his students grasp both simple and complex audio concepts.
